BTW Magnet Law Program Visits the ALMD

On Thursday, May 5th, the Alabama Middle District welcomed the Booker T. Washington Magnet High School’s Magnet Law Program. The Magnet Law Program is a Legal Services Career Technical Education Program that provides students with classroom and practical experience in careers associated with legal services. Senior students of the program have spent their semesters interning with various organizations in the Montgomery area. During their visit, the students, family, sponsors of the Magnet Law Program, and friends attended a senior showcase for the students’ senior projects. Some of the senior projects were based on the topics: Black Women in the Medical Field, The Impact of Violence on Community, The Foster Care System, and more!

Jamal Casby, high school intern for the Alabama Middle District, conducted his presentation on the importance of oral history. As an intern Jamal assisted in developing research and content for the ALMD Oral History Project.

Some of the Magnet Law Program students also had the opportunity to meet and speak with Senior District Judge Myron H. Thompson.
