Opinions

As of April 2005, and pursuant to the written opinions requirement of the EGovernment Act of 2002, all court documents designated as "written opinions," which set forth a reasoned explanation for the court's decision, should be available on-line without charge. This change is not retroactive.

Orders entered prior to April 16, 2005 that may otherwise be considered "written opinions" will not be tagged and current PACER fees for those documents will remain in effect. PACER fees will also remain in effect for all other documents.

There are two methods available to access these written opinions in our court:

1. Click the "Select a Year" option above to get a searchable listing for a full year or more; or
2. If you have an account, log into CM/ECF or PACER to run a "Written Opinions" report. This method allows for a more specific search: Users can search by case number, last name, first name, middle name, office, nature of suit, case type, cause of action, and case flag for a specific date range.
