About Pay.gov
Pay.gov makes it easy to make and manage online payments to many, but not all, United States Government agencies. Payments through Pay.gov are like making any online purchase, but first you must choose the agency paid and what you are paying for. Anyone, anywhere - individuals and businesses - can use Pay.gov.
And of course, using Pay.gov is free.
With Pay.gov you can:
- Make one-time or automatic recurring payments.
- Manage payments, including tracking payment history and status.
- Store information you use repeatedly when making payments, such as your name, address, and credit card number.
Pay.gov is not the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama (ALMD). Pay.gov only accepts payments on behalf of the ALMD and then sends them out for processing.
Contact the ALMD by phone at (334) 954-3600 for the total amount you owe, total amount paid, refunds, and/or tax information. Pay.gov cannot provide that information.
Pay.gov and the Alabama Middle District
In conjunction with the court’s migration to NextGen CM/ECF on May 3, 2021, the Alabama Middle District (ALMD) is implementing Pay.gov electronic payment functionality for select events. Electronic filers will now be able to safely, conveniently, and securely pay filing fees using their credit card either stored on file with the PACER Service Center (PSC), or with any credit card or ACH account entered at the time of payment.
For questions about using Pay.gov at the Alabama Middle District, please contact the Clerk’s Office at (334) 954-3935 during normal operating hours.
