Public Notice: Potential Reappointment of Bankruptcy Administrator Mark S. Zimlich as U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for Alabama Southern District

The current five-year term of Mark S. Zimlich, United States Bankruptcy Administrator for the Southern District of Alabama, expires 14 June 2020. As authorized under the Regulations of the Judicial Conference of the United States Governing the Bankruptcy Administrator Program, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit has established a review committee to consider whether Mr. Zimlich should be reappointed to a new five-year term.

The bankruptcy administrator is responsible for supervising trustees and debtors in possession and ensuring that such persons effectively administer the district’s bankruptcy estates under Section 1334 of Title 28, United States Code.

Members of the bar and the public are invited to submit written comments for consideration by the Court of Appeals concerning the reappointment of Bankruptcy Administrator Zimlich to a new five-year term of office in Mobile. If requested, the identity of a respondent to this solicitation will not be divulged without prior consent. However, Mr. Zimlich will be provided with a general description of the source and nature of any comments.
