Outdoor naturalization ceremony

On July 7, 2020 the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama held its first outdoor naturalization ceremony of the year. Twenty five candidates for naturalization - each the prescribed six feet apart - took their oath of citizenship in a service presided over by Chief Magistrate Judge Wallace Capel Jr. During his remarks, Judge Capel reminded our newest citizens of their responsibility to be involved citizens, and that their work doesn't stop now. After the remarks by the Court, and recognition of guests which included members of both the Daughters of the American Revolution and The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, Angela Coon (law clerk to the Honorable Wallace Capel Jr) led our newly sworn in citizens and guests in the Pledge of Allegiance.
