Alabama Middle District Hosts Auburn Mock Trial Team
On November 2, the Alabama Middle District hosted Auburn University’s mock trial teams. The Honorable J. Scott Vowell, 10th Judicial Circuit Presiding Judge presided over the mock trial, and Chief District Judge W. Keith Watkins was the scoring judge.
The case was an employment law/age discrimination issue, and the jury (comprised of practicing attorneys) was very complimentary of the case, and returned a hung verdict. Auburn’s mock trial team was founded in 2008, and typically sends two teams to their competitions.
After the mock trial, awards were presented by Chief Judge Watkins to the best advocate and best witness. A reception followed at the Renaissance Hotel.
